I'm a very avid activist in favor of it, and for numerous reasons. First I'd say having it in a holster on her person instead of in her purse is highly preferable as it makes it a lot less prone to someone else accidentally or deliberately getting it. As for the common sense bit, if she can be trusted to drive she can be trusted to carry a gun, as both are perfectly safe when done right and require simple prudence and attention. Practice is a big thing, though--not just practice shooting, but practice carrying and living with it. I'd say the biggest thing is to get her comfortable with it and practiced everywhere else so it's part of the routine. The worst thing is to be fidgety and unfamiliar and thus self conscious about it. Always have it on her day and night so it doesn't get into anyone else's hands and also the entire point of it being for the unexpected which can be anywhere any time.

I would like to hear your thoughts on carring on campus... I have often thought of my daughter carrying in her purse... But so many things I think about, what if her friends got it??? etc.... She took her license last year and was only girl there, she ranked no# 1..... But I think it was because she does great on any test you give her, she remembers EVERYTHING when it comes to the questions.... but does she have commomn sense of a weapon???? not sure!!! she is just great at passing a test. I taught her but it scares me to include the pistol for many reasons. I could go on for hours but...... you know.
