    Default The direct scoop:

Here's some more info on references I just got because I'm in the process for mine. Directly from the references sheet:

References must be approved before application is processed further.
    1. Must be Steuben County residents, *
    2. Have known you for at least 5 years,
    3. 21 years or older
    4. Not a member of Steuben Co. Sheriff's Dept
    5. Never convicted of a felony
    6. Not a gunsmith or a gun dealer
    7. Not related to you
    8. One reference per household

*Upon special circumstances, if you do not have four character references that have known you for at least 5 years who rside in Steuben County, you may be eligible for a waiver upon court approval."

    Further information:

Fingerprinting is now done via computer scanning instead of fingerprint card. A contracted service called L1 Enrollment Services does it instead of the county and you pay them. You go to the county clerk get a slip of paper with the contact info and an access code for scheduling an appointment with them. They're on the same street as the municipal building just farther down the road away from downtown Bath, about 3 blocks. They're very friendly and reasonably quick.

This you could say makes the overall cost seem more reasonable, perhaps.

how much does the fingerprinting cost? Ball park figures will work. i have all the paper work i just have to get it filled out. i wish i knew a notary, that way i wouldn't have to go to the city hall.

Most banks have notaries. Just go in and ask the customer service rep, or a teller.

ok. thanks. i know the whole precess has to be completed in a 30 day window, once you start the ball rolling. the hardest part is finding the 4 witnesses, that are not public officials or related to me. lol

have all my signatures, will be headed to Bath tomorrow morning to get pictures, and file the permit. my buddy said he heard that it is taking a little over a month on average to get them back, because of the new e-fingerprinting that they are using. AWESOME
