Yugoslavian m59/66; Is it legal to own?

Hey everyone, I've been a shooter in NY for a few months, but you could say I just became a NYshooter. I've been looking around for Semi-automatic rifles, and have been looking more and more at the Yugoslavian M59/66 due to it's reliability, decent accuracy (or so I've heard) and low cost for 7.62x39 ammunition. From what I've seen while searching around this forum, it seems that some people do have these rifles in NYS. However, I've called a local gunshop, asking about this rifle, particularly if it is legal to own, and they said it was NOT due to the grenade launcher.

Looking at the NY gun laws, it appears to me that since the rifle was assembled well before '94, and since it doesn't have a detachable magazine, the "evil features" don't apply. Looking at them on J&G Sales, It only says that they aren't for sale in California.

TL;DR - Can I can I purchase/Possess a Yugoslavian M59/66, with grenade launcher attached, in stock configuration, In New York state?

Yes, you can. For a weapon to fall under the AWB in NY it has to have a pistol grip. Since this firearm does not have a pistol grip it is not an AWB. Welcome to the forum!

They're ALL "pre-Ban" so go and enjoy!
Kali. doesn't allow grenade launchers, so the Importers remove them for sales there.
