Nope, not trying to trick you at all Terry.... I've shot some pretty big yotes in the 50# range....
honestly, this Dog was much closer to 75#, I have another trail cam pic of a year earlier and
another large male that is definitely a yote and you can tell the size difference.... Canis Rufus
is definitely smaller than Canis Lupus..... But, if you get a chance check out this little Gem from
    NYS DEC: http://www.thewildlifenews.com/wp-co...mments2011.pdf
Boy would I LOVE to see those "A" attachments!!! It's not hard to fathom that a population of Grey's/Red's
exist in what was there natural range in NYS?????

Nice falcon. I never seen that pdf before. You call Fox mostly and take a Yote as the bonus?? or you go out to call yotes?? What electronic call machine you use??? My all time fav call for Fox is the old Johnny Stewart grey fox pup distress. Others make it like Dennis Kirk etc.. but the Stewart has always been far better for us. Is the pic you posted at end of August?? Seen no date time stamp from trail cam.

Terry most yotes come when I am calling Fox..., however, last year I had my first double, when I walked outside and hour before
dark and low and behold about 7 dogs were acting up across the street on a Ridge. So I grabbed a few mouth calls, and a long
range dying rabbit, the rifle and sprinted to the edge of a bean field. In the middle of a 30 second call 4 dogs came into the field
headind straight towards me. I let the first big male get about 45yds, shot him, and then I took a running shot at the 2nd dog and
shot just in front, but the dog turned and started running just to my left in the opposite direction. The next shot was a double lung
at 75 yards! I was psyched!! I also have an Old Johnny Stewart and shot many fox and yotes. I now use a FOXPRO 416 and that
has worked well for me. As far as the date and time stamp on the photo? Funny you should mention that but I crop all my game pics
because I learned the hard way last year when I found out that my camera (Which is GPS remote) Gave exact longitude and lattitude
of the camera's location!! (I found that I gave the location of a 160 class 12 point out on Facebook!! LMAO)

Thats awesome. You seem to know the ins and outs. Takes awhile huh?? LOL. You use a hip mounted coon lite like I use?? How long you call each stop?? We go 5-8 minutes thats it, then move on about 20-40 calls per night. How about your first night out every season, everything is all fumbles carrying calls around neck, electronic call, gun, lite, take a few calls to get back in shape hang of things, LOL. or ya try to close truck door silent, keep interior lights off when door opens, LOL. Ya fumble around for stuff, etc.... Lot of fun!!! It's like ya gotta get a couple calls under your belt first night out of season, then your ready to go. LOL

Everything above is talking night hunts, not day.

I have owned a few Wolf hybrids(I beleive now illegal in NY) and the breeder where I bought my 25% malamute 75% north American grey timberwolf told me about a few of his "bitches" that escaped the pen and were never found. I am sure this is not an isolated incident but a female wolf breeding with a male Yote in the wild? I don't know.
Both My wolf Hybrids were well over 200#, and were gentle Giants toward humans...they really disliked other dogs.
BOT ...the largest Coyote I ever shot was 65# and he was big compared to anything else I have shot. My method of Yote hunting involves me Rabbitt hunting early in the day, then after dark I spread the entrails and skins in a field ...plant my electronic call and hit rabbitt in distress . My record is three in one night hunt using 00buck shot while sitting in my tree stand on a gas pipeline. two of them came in together and the third I hit about an hour later. wish I could go this year, but I can't even lift a rifle yet...sigh....
when society falls... LOOKOUT! I will finally be on a level playing field.

I had one Shepherd that was a bit hybrid. Had 3% wolf down the breed line. Problem with hybrids is in Shepherds!! they are NOT a dog and they are NOT a Wolf. They are a predator that is NOT affraid of people. They still have predator instink. They could watch same routine every day like a child waiting for school bus.... THEN IT HAPPENS. not good!!!

Here ya go, A 7 p.m. seminar Feb. 10 will go over tracking signs of rare and endangered species. A question-and-answer session follows. Cost is $10.
The two-day workshop is $150 and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 11 and 12. The workshop includes the cost of the seminar.

This is a few miles from my place. Like we need to pay someone to hear what we already know?

Right!!! lol. Problem with Coyotes is they hunt the same way as Red Fox, I love the Red. They run prey down and hunt open areas same as Reds, but can out run the Red. They kill and run the Red Fox out of area. The Grey Fox they don't get much. And yes the Grey can climb same as a cat. The grey stays deep thickets, brush etc... The Red will even sleep in open area fields etc... in day time. Thats why in many states it is all Coyotes and no Reds much.
