We are coming up on our third year anniversary since we formed the community in January 2009 and over the course of these three years NY Shooters has proven to be a reliable source of information within the firearms community. To continue to be a credible source of information and grow the community we will be implementing a few changes in the next few months.
Up until now we have not required anything in return for commercial entities to advertise their products/services here. Unfortunately this has resulted in these entities using the forum for the advertising of their goods and then failing to contribute anything to the community in terms of content or financial support to help offset operating costs.
Starting November 1st, 2011 paid memberships will be available for any commercial entity wishing to conduct business here. Membership cost will be $100 paid annually or $10 per month with a minimum 3 month membership. A paid membership is not required for any commercial entity that is not conducting business here. This means if you own a firearm related company but do not advertise or promote your company when posting here then you will not be required to purchase a membership.
Any commercial entity which decides they would like to contribute financial support to the community via the purchase of a membership will receive the following benefits:
• The ability to advertise with a 468x60px banner in our rotating ad system. This is located at the top of the forum. The black box below is the size of the banner. If you do not have a banner we can create one for you.
• A personal forum in the “Sponsor / Vendor Forums” area with moderator privileges to your forum.
• Private message inbox capacity is increased from 250 to 1000.
• The ability to use the forum to list your products/services for sale.
• The opportunity to advertise your business at any NY Shooters events.
