    Default coyote hunting

Hey all, I'm looking at taking up coyote hunting as my next endeavour. I consider my self much less experienced than a lot of you on here and any assistance in terms of ammo, calls-electronic or not, tactics, any useful info will be greatly appreciated. My arsenal consists of a mossberg 835 12 ga w dual barrels, savage edge xp .270, a .50 cal cva muzzleloader and a .22.
Thanks in advance bc I know there is a lot of experience on this site!

My first opinion is, first Fox hunt at night time YOU will have them come in. Fox is much easier to hunt and more likely to see them, so as not to be disappointed first time out. The yote will be a bonus if one comes in. Use a gray fox pup in distress call. The gray will charge right in, the reds will hold up a bit and circle down wind. The yote you'll know by the eye distance. Use your 835 with 3 or 3 1/2 in. mags with 4 shot. The Yotes are more involved, and once you blow it..... You'll never see him again, kind of..

I saw the largest Yote ever last night while driving home. It was with a herd of 5 dear and was the size of a large German Shepherd.

If I understand correctly, you can use night vision on coyotes in NY, correct?

Most of our furs a few years back got all sold to SUNY for a class I think. At an auction.

Few years back 2 shot was not legal at night, center fire was not legal at night, then center with lights was not legal etc... Now have at it with pretty much anything. We use to years back take thinner and rub the no# 2 off the shells, LOL

Hmm...I'm REALLY wondering what it could be like to hunt with night vision, and what 7.62x54R would do to a coyote. The only thing missing in this equation is NY having suppressors legal.
