It still needs to be added onto your pistol permit before you can possess it in New York. I don't know if you can file a permit amendment for a gun you're purchasing from an out of state dealer. My guess is probably not, since they're not part of the New York paper chase and won't know what forms to file.

no way to do this with a C&R

C&R doesnt cover you for pistols/handguns, period.

You need to have it brought in to a NYS Pistol Dealer, then added to license, THEN take possession of it.

IF you have a pistol thats C&R Eligible , you really SHOULD have it added to your C&R bound book. I was told I should back when I had a C&R.

    This state is so ...backwards.

That's the way the NYSP would like it done, yet every county does things a little differently.

Have to love "pre-paided" coupons. :O)

Do you mean preban magazines? That's different from C&R. Identifying if a mag is preban depends on what kind of magazine it is. I think some can be identified by how they're built or the shape of certain features, even when they're not marked.

Your lucky in your county. From what I've been told that's phased out or hopefully in their mind, it will be soon. Really though the system is 100x more difficult than it should be anyhow

That said. Looking forward to the next shoot with you and everyone Been too long
