The number one thing you need in case of emergency is water. In fact, one of the first tips that emergency guides list is to rush to your bathroom and fill the tub with water so that no one gets dehydrated in case the water supply is cut.

Unfortunately, the water in the tub might not be that safe to drink given the amount of bacteria that’s probably in your bathroom and in some areas of your tub, especially if you don’t use it much. The perfect solution? The waterBOB Emergency Bathtub Drinking Water Storage.
WaterBOB is a huge storage container made from high quality food grade plastic that can store up to one hundred gallons of water. Just put it in your tub, turn on the tap, and wait until the entire thing fills up. With the waterBob, you’re more or less assured that the water stays safe to drink since it doesn’t actually come into direct contact with your tub. The waterBOB also comes with a siphon pump so you can dispense smaller amounts of water as needed.

I am actually ordering 2 55 gallon water barrels to have filled just in case. I also hear that a good source of water is your hot water heater. Obviously you would need to turn the water supply off to the heater but a good backup.

I work our local water treatment plants. :D
Also, I have many hidden natural springs that Me and a few others in the family know about.

This isn't a bad Idea at all, I know there is a few spots in my tub I wouldn't want water getting to lol

Off on a slight tangent: We receive "Battery Water" in blue poly 5gal. containers (distilled water) unless someone tells me otherwise I plan to use them for emergency water. 5 gallons isn't too hard to handle, they're cube shaped and stack very well, have carry handles and two bungs, the larger of which the center punches out and the cap is 1/2" female pipe thread.
Question: how much bleach to treat/make/keep safe 5 gallons of deep well or municiple water? (there are a couple water sheds near here with State certified water)

The CDC recommends 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water depending on whether it's clear or cloudy.

There was another thread a while back. I've had one of these for a while now. It's just really cheap insurance.
