I think property where a house has burned or been torn down might be a good place to hunt. Stuff from the house will inevitably end upon the ground.

wow great stuff! I would like to get a detector, once when I was a teen I was walking though the woods on a trail and saw a round shape sticking out of the dirt. I dug it out and it was a six pence from 17xx cant remember date exactly now. There was a lot of British soldiers there during the revolution. would love to go back with a detector and find more stuff.
