If you want to bring it up on Wednesday I will rescheduled my welder for Thursday and have it done by Friday for you.

Have you shot more than one type of ammo through the gun? I would pick up another brand of ammo and see if you have the same problem, if so then we know it isn't the ammo.

no, i bought a 420 round can of mil-spec ammo. It almost acts like the bolt doesn't come back far enough to push the round into the breech, I will see about getting another box of ammo though

Ok, the loading problem I think is fixed, for some reason the bolt was not sliding all the way back to allow clearance of the round in the mag, I was playing with it, cause when you put an empty mag in it, the bolt would not lock back, so i kept working the charging handle, and all of the sudden it moved back farther, like it had been getting stuck... I don't understand, but this is my first AR.

Rich, I should be up around 12 tomorrow.

If I'm not around give me a call on my cell (585.991.3195). I may run down the street to shoot a few practice rounds.

Just like anything firearms need to be worn in to work at optimum performance, sounds like this was all that was needed.

well i knew something was off when the slide quit locking open with an empty mag in it. Does the buffer tube have anything to do with the bolt. When we cleaned the rifle we completely tore it down and cleaned it, even inspected the buffer tube.

ok. I will shoot you a text when I leave home, and if your not home when I get there I will call.

The BCG goes into the buffer tube and then is forced forward again by the buffer spring.

I think it was the buffer tube spring. we pinned the stock so i am thinking that the pin may have been interfering with the spring in the tube. what can I say, I am new to AR's..lol. Live and learn.
