    Default Inexpensive Lower

Hello New to the site, A couple of weeks ago I got a Colt AR-15 which now I am finding out is not legal in NY So since I have $1K wrapped up in this thing I thought about just picking up a stripped lower and just swapping all the parts over. First question are all the lower parts interchangable. And second and suggestion on a very inexpensive but decent stripped lower?? Thank you for your help I did not realize that this was gonna come back and bite especially after buying from a shop and not a private seller.

What are you hoping to accomplish by switching lowers? I would think that yours would not be legal due to: the stock, flash hider, bayo lug, etc. Switching lowers will not fix those issues unless you go with a pre ban.

I got a Muzzle brake that is gonna be pinned and welded, the bayo lug is getting removed and the stock I already pinned.
The Colt lower is Stamped "Colt AR-15"

As Gunner stated switching lowers doesn't solve anything. I would have the mods done to your Colt to make it NY compliant, at the end of the day it may be NY neutered but it is still a high quality and highly desirable AR to own.

By the way, if the Colt is a post ban, and you are making all those changes, you would not have to do anything with the lower!

Ok, so make the changes and you'll have a fine NY compliant rifle.
