Well opening day at the NRA convention appears that attendance will be strong. St. Louis is a buzzing place this morning. I'll keep you posted as to anything new like the Ruger 22/45 lite, and the new Smith and Wesson Shield.

Let me know if Mitt Romney or Ted Nugent is there with him. (serious).
I caught most of Mitt Romney's speech at the convention yesterday on Fox News. I'm starting to like this guy.

Just remember the state that he was Governor of, has some strict laws.
Here is one that I found out about that he supported, and got through while Governor of MA.
Any pistols sold in that state need to make a list. To make that list, manufactures would need to submit each SKU number and $10,000 for "testing" that contains less tests than the factory can provided documented proof of performing. Both Sig and Springfield told me that, and both of them offer limited numbers of SKU's to MA, and CA (I take it they have a similar program in CA.)

On a side note... Thanks to the following companies that spent lots of time talking with us.
Ruger
Stag
Springfield
Henry
Marlin
Barrett
Savage
Otis
Fort Knox
Smith and Wesson
Sig Sauer
All of those manufacturers were great at supporting thier products. They all gave us a lot of attention as a dealer, and took comments that we made serious, as well as provided great insight into the market.
So thanks to all those manufacturers for supporting the industry as greatly as they do.
No another place that I spent lots of time, and learned lots of gret things, was the FBI's booth. I believe the guy's name was Eric, and he spent well over an hour talking about NICS checks, and the new electronic version, as well as the yet to come web based check. He spent a lot of time going over the form, and what's coming and going.
All great times, and I met a lot of great people in the industry.

Is their new electronic version going to be different then their current internet version?
Yes, much faster, and also they are going to get rid of the electronic mailer that the dealer needs to keep. That dealer will be able to log in and get any of the check they do online. It will be all web based, and saved to the dealers database, that will be able to be used for an ATF audit.
Can't wait to check it out.
