Thumbs up Bath Rod & Gun Club

I just joined recently and must say this place is fantastic! The facilities are top notch, especially for clays, one of the best I've ever seen. The people are super friendly and the breakfast on Sunday morning is excellent, probably my favorite meal to eat out for the week. Anyone else on here stop by there much?

I drive by there quite a bit when I go down to PA but have never shot there. I'll have to check the place out sometime if they host a trap shoot.

Do they have IDPA or USPSA shoots?

An update from the annual meeting last night.

*We are in the process of adding several shooting matches this year. CMP and 3 gun matches are immediately in the works, and will be training new range safety officers to help facilitate those events. CMP matches are really cool, much like racing classic cars. :)

*We need more volunteers to help teach basic pistol courses, and we're rather low on pistol shooters because of the legal obstructions. The club had 5 basic pistol courses last year and wants to host more of those and expand to add advanced courses.

*We want to host more 4H and Boy Scout (Girl Scout too, if they want to do so) events. We also want to do demo days for first time shooters with .22's and 20 gauges.

*We will be hosting Refuse to Be a Victim courses. This is excellent for anyone you know in the community to attend, wives and daughters especially.

-------All of this needs to be advertised as extensively as possible. Tell EVERYONE you know about this.

It must be nice to be a member of a club that "wants" to host classes. All of the clubs I belong to tend to look the other way for any rifle/pistol classes. I'd contact Chris Fry and see if he is looking to do any classes out that way, I know he does pistol and carbine classes from beginner to advanced.

We also want to get our membership up as well. Currently we have 310 members, which definitely needs to increase. We should be closer to a thousand or more--I was VERY surprised to hear that we aren't at least at that. I'm probably going to work a bit with the Painted Post club in the near future as well, wanting to get both to do more since we have a very nice area with Corning near the latter and Hammondsport near the former. We need to grow big time to get more for everyone, become a more visible part of the community, have more political and educational clout (BIG project to work on as well), and maintain our heritage.
